Seven years ago, I started my career in Australian mining, civil construction, heavy equipment, plant hire, engineering, technology, and logistics industry. Before that, I did something most people skip. I served an apprenticeship under a business coach. For eight months, I worked for free under him, and he taught me how to sell, account management, customer service and how to become unique in your own way, find your voice and lead with respect and understanding. He taught me one thing above everything else: selling is not manipulation. It is helping someone get exactly what they want.
That philosophy came from the greats. Zig Ziglar. Jim Rohn. The principle of action selling. The idea that the best salespeople do not push. They listen, they understand, and they guide. That foundation changed how I approached every client, every conversation, and every deal I have ever worked.
My first client was a construction supply company just breaking ground in Queensland. They were doing $20,000 to $30,000 a month when we started. Within six months, monthly revenue averaged between $200,000 and $250,000. In the strongest months, it pushed between $350,000 and $490,000. Over four years, we generated over $9.6 million in total sales. The owner successfully exited and sold his business.
After that, I took on roles such as Sales Manager and Buskess development Manager at a couple of companies across different industries. I learned how Australian procurement worked from the inside.
